This course is designed for absolute beginners — people who do not speak Italian but need it for traveling in Italy with greater ease and confidence.  In this fun and practical course, you’ll learn how to handle everyday situations: greeting people, ordering at restaurants, asking for directions, booking hotels, and navigating trains — all through interactive role-play and real-life scenarios.

We will continue to review the grammar concepts studied so far (especially the "passato prossimo" and articulated prepositions) adding new vocabulary and phrases geared to: 1) a trip abroad 2) a shopping outing, 3) telling a travel story.

Learn to ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Learn to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Aimed at improving vocabulary and conversational skills, all conversation will be in Italian.  Homework and discussions will deal with Italian culture, current events, idioms and proverbs in a variety of activities that involve each student.

Description: this C level class aims for higher proficiency and fluency. It introduces more complex and sophisticated vocabulary, and concentrates on vocabulary building through awareness of noun, adjective, verb, adverb connection. It continues to build on grammar and conversation skills, as well as reading and writing through homework assignments.
